Tradescantia 'Sweet Kate' Plants

Tradescantia 'Sweet Kate', also known as Blue and Gold Spiderwort, is a hardy herbaceous perennial with unique contrasting colors.  This stellar performer has a beautiful upright stature with a compact habit.  The leaves are a bright yellow and give way to abundant blue flowers.  The flowers only last for a day but are replaced by yet another one the following day.  These self-cleaning flowering heads are borne over a long time in late spring until early fall.  A great partial shade perennial!

Fertilizer: If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring.  If using a granular or scratch fertilizer, we recommend organic formulations.  Apply an all-purpose formula in early spring annually.  It is only recommended to use liquid fertilizers when the growth is slow, and this is not normally needed.
