Portulaca oleracea Mega Pazzaz™ Purple

Portulaca Mega Pazzaz™ 'Purple' is similar to the other pazzaz portulacas we offer but with larger blooms and a bit more coverage.  Just like most portulacas they are drought tolerant, heat tolerant, very easy to grow, and almost carefree.  Provide a bit of granular fertilizer at planting time, water in, and they are normally good for the rest of the summer.  Growth may slow in periods of drought and you can supplement water during those periods but we do not recommend daily watering; only once a week during low rainfall periods.  This fuchsia bloomer is great for containers, rock gardens, and offering  late season color to boring spots.
