Athyrium niponicum var. Pictum Plants
Athyrium 'Pictum', is a beautiful Japanese painted fern, that brings light to the shade garden with its richly colored fronds. This 2004 Perennial Plant of the Year is a great groudcover under deciduous trees and is a great companion to heuchera and hosta. Will tolerate periods of drought once established, but best displays are had with ample moisture. Slowly spreading and non-invasive.
