Lobelia cardinalis, Cardinal Flower Plants

Lobelia cardinalis, is a popular perennial most associated with moist soils and shade gardens.  The scarlet blooms are the highlight of this lobelia and are a unique and different form in the plant world.  Secondary to the rich scarlet blooms are the glossy green leaves; which are attractive in their own merit.  This strong upright lobelia plays well with other plants in the shaded border and is easily grown in moist soils.  Attracts hummingbirds by the hordes.
