Sisyrinchium(Blue-eyed Grass)
Genus of 90 species of annuals, and rhizomatous perennials.  Native to North and South America, but can be
found naturalized elsewhere.  The species in this genus prefer mountainous areas to meadows, with some
liking the well-drained habitat of coastal areas.

Growing Tips
Plant in a well-drained locality that has been slightly enriched with organic matter.  Pluck seed heads after
flowering to encourage a re-bloom in early autumn.  Plants can be divided every third year, but is not
necessary.
Sisyrinchium 'Cloudy Skies'
Not as dreary as the name, this little plant pumps out
light lavender blooms that slowly fade to pure white
with purple centers in the late spring to early summer
garden.  The 1" blooms are borne right above the
grass-like foliage and make onlookers stop in disbelief.
A two year old plant produces hundreds of blooms
throughout the season.

Incorporate in container plantings, in the front of the
border, or makes a great addition to rock/gravel
gardens.
