Sanicula caerulescens
(Blue Sanicle)
Sanicula is a native Chinese groundcover that grows in damp scrub to
woodland settings.  The brush like flowers are borne on 6" flowering stalks
that are held nicely above the 4" bronze-green foliage.  The evergreen
foliage has a compact growth habit with lance shaped to slightly rounded
leaves that are ternate(3 leaflets) and have a bronze finish.  Beautiful color
contrast on an exquisite groundcover for full to partial shade.

Growing Tips
Plant in a well-drained soil that has been slightly enriched with organic matter
(leafy compost). Sanicula performs great in a pH range of 5.5 - 6.6; for
optimum color and growth.  Also, a nice addition to container plantings.
