| Festuca genus contains some three hundred to four hundred species of perennial grasses, with a small fraction containing the powdery blue colorations. These tufted grasses are widely grown for turf and ornamental purposes. They are natively(US) spread throughout temperate zones in grasslands, woodland edges, and stream margins.
