| The Siberian Bugloss is a rhizomatous perennial that has soft hairy leaves up to 8" long, and are heart shape in form. This genus covers three species that are naturally spread throughout Europe and Asia. In spring blue forget me not like flowers are borne in panicles that measure up to 1/4" across. Parent Species of Plants We Offer: Brunnera macrophylla - Rhizomatous perennial with mid to deep green leaves up to 8" long. The heart shaped leaves give rise to bright blue flowers up to a quarter inch across and are borne on 8" panicles in spring. Grows up to 18" tall with a 24" spread. Native to Caucasus, and hardy to zones 3 - 7. Growing Tips Plant in a well-drained soil, that is located in a shady location, and has been enriched with compost, leaf mold, or likewise material. Spreading a good 1/2" of compost around base of the plant every fall(making sure not to cover the crown of the plant), will fertilize the plant throughout the upcoming season. Easy plant to grow as long as the required conditions are met. |
