tubular flowers of violet to blue coloration are borne sturdily above the foliage.  Native to Russia and China.  Zones 3

Growing Tips
Plant in a well-drained soil that has been enriched with organic matter, and has a pH range of 6.0 - 7.5.  Providing a
stake will help keep plants confined in heavy wind areas.  Cutting spent flowering stalks before seed is formed
encourages a longer bloom period.
