TEUCRIUM(Germander)
Genus contains 100 or more species of herbaceous perennials, deciduous subshrubs, and evergreen shrubs.
These plants are primarily found in thickets, woodlands, rocky, and mountainous places.  Teucrim is spread
worldwide, but is especially common in Mediterranean regions.  The simple or toothed leaves are borne as
opposite pairs and are usually very aromatic.  The the two lipped flowers are borne thickly up and down the
flowering stalks.

GROWING TIPS
Plant in a well-drained soil that has slightly been enriched with organic matter, at a pH range of 6.5 - 7.5.
Extremely organically rich soils will result in heavier plants with weak stems that are more likely to fall over in
extreme weather situations.  A great plant for groundcover and cut flowers.
Teucrium 'Purple Tails'
A first year flowering perennial with long curled
flowering spikes.  The striking tubular flowers are
fuchsia in color and are borne in masses from
mid-summer through autumn.  The spade-shaped leaves
have serrate edges, a fuzzy texture, are mid-green in
color, and scented.  A quick growing perennial that has
great use as a ground cover, as it looks great planted in
mass.  Also is appealing in a herbaceous border, as a
backdrop for creeping annuals, and inter-planted with
dark leaved plants.
