We grow tomato plants in 2.5" pots. This pot size filled with our own growing medium produces strong tomato plants with elaborate root systems, deep green leaves, and strong healthy stems.

Before, the tomatoes are packaged into boxes the root ball is secured within the pot using kraft paper and rubber bands. This eliminates soil spillage during transit while allowing proper circulation to the root system. < (Plant pictured is a potentilla and is used as an example to show how the majority of our plants are prepared prior to shipping).

Lastly, the tomato plants are secured within the shipping box with recycled peanuts(picture on right). These peanuts are 100% recycled material and are waterproof. Peanuts fill the void in between objects constricting the amount of movement within the box, allowing the plants to be in prime condition upon arrival.
In a 6' upside down drop the peanuts kept the plants in the exact same position and condition, as they were originally packed. While, mail carriers are not that harsh on packages, we decided to go the extra mile to insure plants are in top condition upon arrival.
