Growers Notes: Easy to cultivate poppy that prefers well-drained soil with an adequate amount of humus. Plant in a full sun locality in a soil that is within the pH range of 5.5 - 7.0 for best performance. Mixing compost or an all purpose granular fertilizer in the planting hole will encourage larger blooms and more impressive displays. After transplanting, poppies are virtually maintenance free. Inter-plant later flowering perennials like Asters to fill the void poppies leave, as they go dormant after blooming in late July to Early August.
