MECONOPSIS(Himilayan Poppy)
A genus of 45 species of perennials, annuals, or biennials, native to the Himalayas, Burma,
Western Europe, and China.  These plants have hairy leaves which form a basal rosette
containing simple or pinnate leaves that are either toothed, lobed or pinnatisect.  The flowering
stalks rise from the center of the basal rosette of leaves and depending on species, either
produce a short raceme of flowers, a single flower, or a short panicle of flowers.  These flowers
are generally cup-shaped and gently nodding.

GROWING TIPS
Plant in a moist well-drained soil with a pH range of 5.5-6.5, in a partially shaded location.
Mulch to prevent moisture loss and for winter protection.  If these poppies are planted in a
poor soil they will more than likely be very short-lived.
