A genus comprised of perennials, biennials, and annuals, with more than 300 species. The most cutlivated species are herbaceous, semi-evergreen, evergreen, and tuberous perennials. The leaves are normally five pointed, palmate, and in most species are deeply divided into lobes. This genus is widely cultivated in Europe for its' range in authentic color and leaf styles, as well as, fragrant leaves. The saucer or star shaped flowers are borne in dense cymes (branched flowering stalk), umbels (stalked flowers borne from a single point on flowering stem;yarrow,dill-like), or panicle-like inflorescence's (flowering types).

Geranium Growing Tips

- Plant in a well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade.
- Slightly enrich the soil with organic matter before planting to encourage a more even
soil moisture, and to feed growing plants.
- Make sure soil is in the safe pH range of 5.5-7.5 before planting geraniums.
- Geraniums do not tolerate wet-feet, especially in the winter months.
- Trim back dead growth in fall and mulch around plants with straw or shredded wood.
